"Mojn Southjutland"​

Day 1: „Mojn“

If you drive across the border in Schleswig-Holstein you find yourself directly in Sønderjylland. There, people also greet each other with a heart-warming “Mojn Mojn” and the border is only for political reasons, as people have been living in harmony with one another for many decades. From here it is also not far to our host on this trip, the Hotel Sønderborg Strand, located right in the heart of South Jutland’s largest city on the island of Als.
After check-in, we have dinner together and if you want, you can take your first walk on your own.

Day 2: Sønderborg

At the beginning of our stay, we explore the city in the morning together with the local tour guide on an approximately 2-hour city tour. You can learn a lot about the varied history of the city, which was founded in the 13th century. The tour ends at Sønderborg Castle, which is visited after the tour. A variety of exhibitions invite you to discover them, the focus is on the history of Denmark over the last 200 years.
After individual free time, we drive a short distance to the Düppeler Schanzen in the early afternoon. There we visit the history center “Dybbøl Banke”. It tells about the feud between Danes, Prussians and Austrians in the century before last…
Dinner will then take place back at the hotel.

Day 3: The Vikings and the Wadden Sea

A panoramic drive takes us to Ribe on the North Sea coast in the morning. The place was one of the most important trading centers for the Vikings and in the ancient city center you feel like you have been transported back to the time of the Vikings. We experience this and other things during the 1-hour city tour through the place.
After individual free time, the journey continues to Høyer. There we visit the world natural heritage site “Wadden Sea National Park”, among other things the area with the most birds in Europe. We experience the world’s unique landscape on a Wadden Sea safari together with a local guide and many surprising experiences.
After this great natural spectacle, we return to Sønderborg in the late afternoon, where we have dinner at our hotel and end the day comfortably.

Day 4: Royal Jutland and the marshes

Well fortified from breakfast, we drive north to Kolding. We owe our first stop to the only remaining royal castle in Jutland, Koldinghus Fortress. The former seat of the Danish kings is now a fortress, museum and architectural masterpiece. Also worth seeing are the Heroes’ Tower, the Ruin Hall, the castle church, a library and the largest knight’s hall in Denmark. Permanent traveling exhibitions of international standing round off a visit to the Koldinghus in a positive way.
Then we go back to the North Sea coast, where we visit the Wadden Sea Center in Vester Vedsted. We learn exciting things about this unique world natural heritage, the unique landscape of the Wadden Sea.
Last but not least, we visit the Hoyer mills. This is still completely in the wind and can be walked all the way to the top. Finally, we enjoy freshly baked bread cake in the Mühlencafé. A culinary highlight that is only served in the South Jutland region. In the evening we are guests in the restaurant of our hotel for the last time and reflect on the past few days.

Day 5: På gensyn – Goodbye in Denmark

After breakfast and check-out, it’s time to say goodbye to Denmark; a trip full of new impressions and beautiful memories is coming to an end. From here you can travel on your own.

Day 1: ”hjer telig velkommen” in Jütland

Over the course of the day we continue to Kolding via the Flensburg border crossing, a warm welcome to Denmark.
After an individual stroll through downtown Kolding, we will reach our hotel in the afternoon, where we will have dinner and overnight.

Day 2: The Wadden Sea

We start our excursion program with a visit to Sønderborg Castle. The focus of the exhibition is dedicated to the history of Denmark over the last 200 years. Then we experience the Wadden Sea National Park in Hoyer, among other things the most bird-rich area in Europe. We enjoy the Wadden Sea Safari together with a local guide who provides many surprising experiences…
After this natural spectacle we visit Høyer Mill. This is still completely in the wind and can be climbed all the way to the top. Finally, we taste freshly baked bread cake in the mill café, a very tasty culinary highlight that is only served in the South Jutland region. Dinner will be at the hotel.

Day 2: Jutland is steeped in history

After the check out we visit the historical fortress “Koldinghus”. The 13th century castle is the former seat of the kings of Denmark and the only remaining royal fortress in Jutland.

The journey continues to Aarhus. After a short drive through the city center, you go to the open-air museum “Den gamle By”. There are no fewer than 75 historical buildings to visit.

From here the journey goes to the overnight stay in the nearby accommodation. Dinner is already waiting for you there. Driving distance ca. 150 km

Day 3: The Danish North Cape and a desert panorama …

In the late morning we reach Skagen, the northern tip of Denmark. Here we first enjoy a tractor ride to “Grenen”, where the North Sea and Baltic Sea unite and after an individual break in the center of the small town, we take the bus for a short distance and marvel at the second largest shifting dune in Europe, “Råbjerg Mile”. From here you can see both the Baltic Sea and the North Sea. In the late afternoon we reach our next host and enjoy dinner and overnight.

Day 4: The North Sea coast

After a panoramic drive through the “Thy” National Park and past Hanstholm, we reach the small ferry port in Agger. From here it is only a 15-minute drive to Thyborøn. Here you can feel the forces of nature on the Danish west coast! We also visit the “Kystcentret Thyborøn”, the largest adventure center on the west coast.
After plenty of sea air, we enjoy a small lunch in the Kystcentret at noon. Then it’s off to the fishing port of Thyborøn.
You have free time until you go to the next hotel for dinner in the late afternoon.

Day 5: Holstebro und ein stiller Wächter

The morning begins with a guided tour of the city. Then we stroll on our own through Holstebro, the largest city in West Jutland with the oldest pedestrian zone in Denmark.

Then it goes again to the North Sea coast to Bovbjerg. A walk along the cliffs takes us to the lighthouse. Here we feel the forces of nature again.
In the afternoon we arrive at our hotel. Here we spend our final evening and enjoy the Danish hospitality for the last time. Driving distance ca. 160 km.

Day 6: På gensyn – Goodbye in Denmark

In the morning we take part in a city tour through Ribe and then explore the city on our own. At the end of the trip we visit the Wadden Sea National Park near Hoyer and take part in a Wadden Sea Safari.
After this natural spectacle we say goodbye and end our impressive journey through Denmark.

"Jutland hiking experience"

Day 1: “hjertelig velkommen” in Jutland 
in the Wadden Sea World Heritage Site

In the morning we continue to Høyer on the North Sea coast via the Flensburg border crossing. At the beginning of our stay we visit the Wadden Sea National Park, among other things the most birdrich area in Europe. We experience the world’s unique landscape on a Wadden Sea Safari together with a local guide and many surprising experiences. After this natural spectacle, a panoramic drive past Ribe through the Jutland heathland to Herning. In the late afternoon we reach our first host, after check-in we have dinner together and end the day comfortably.

Day 2: Along the Ringkøbing Fjord

Hike starting at the hotel first through the village, then mostly along the fjord to Søndervig. From there, continue in a southerly direction through the dune heath to the lighthouse of Lyngvig to the end point Hvide Sande, where there is still free time. Dinner at the hotel.

Day 3: The North Sea coast from Bovbjerg to Thyborøn

Hike starting at the Bovbjerg lighthouse. The path leads us along the steep coast with its numerous bunkers of the Atlantic Wall. Then it’s off over the beach dike to Thyborøn, Denmark’s second largest fishing port. There we visit the rescue station “Flyholm”. After we have visited an interesting new church and the harbor, the hike “Kystcentret Thyborøn” ends. In this adventure center you can learn a lot about the predominant nature of the Danish North Sea coast.

A freshly caught fish buffet awaits us for dinner before we head back to Ringkøbing.

Day 4: Through the “Klosterhede” nature reserve

Circular hike through one of the largest forest areas in Denmark (approx. 6,400 ha), very species-rich and fantastic nature, very rich in water, large red deer population and many beaver colonies. Among other things, we pass the Rishøje burial mounds, a collection of burial mounds from the Bronze Age. Dinner in
Hotel.

Day 5: National Park “Thy”

Today we undertake the most demanding hike of the trip in Denmark’s oldest national park. Start in Nørre Vorrupør, where the fishing trawlers are still pulled ashore. Today’s destination is Klitmøller, Denmark’s “Coldhawaii”, where the World Litter Championships take place every year. On the way we always enjoy great views of the North Sea or the nature reserve. After the hike, a short stop at the lighthouse in Hanstholm before we reach our hotel in Hirtshals in the early evening.

Day 6: Around Skagen

On this day we travel a lot by bus and hike several stages around Skagen. But first we visit the North Sea Oceanarium in Hirtshals, Northern Europe’s largest aquarium. There we visit, among other things, the seal family during their daily feeding….

Then, after a short bus ride, we hike to the breathtaking shifting dune “Råbjerg Mile”. If you stand on the dune, you can see both the Baltic and the North Sea. From there the bus takes us to the northern Skagen to the nature reserve “Grenen”. Here is a last hike from the old lighthouse in Skagen to the northern tip of Denmark. In the early evening we will reach our hotel again.

Day 7: På gensyn – Goodbye in Denmark

After breakfast and checkout, drive south via Aalborg, Aarhus and Vejle to Kolding. Finally we visit the historical fortress “Koldinghus”, a former seat of the kings of Denmark and the only remaining royal fortress in Jutland. The castle from the 13th century is now a fortress, museum and an architectural masterpiece at the same time!
After this visit it is time to say goodbye to Denmark, a trip full of new impressions and beautiful memories is drawing to a close. From here, the journey takes place on your own.

Funen, Denmark's sun garden

Day 1: “hjerelig velkommen” on Funen

From the border we recommend traveling via Kolding, where we will make our first stop. Here we visit the castle ruins “Koldinghus”, a former seat of the kings of Denmark. The castle from the 13th century is now a ruin, a museum and an architectural masterpiece with various exhibitions of international standing! Continuing over the “Lille-Belt” bridge, we finally reach our destination – “hjertelig velkommen” on Funen!
The lively and lively capital Odense is our starting point to discover the home of the most famous Dane, Hans Christian Andersen. After check-in, we have dinner together and a cozy end to the day.

Day 2: The capital Odense

3. Tag: Inselpanorama

Today we explore other beautiful sides of Funen on a panoramic trip away from the capital. After being welcomed by the tour guide, our first destination is the romantic Kerteminde, located directly on the east coast of the island. We continue south to Nyborg, one of the oldest and most important cities in Denmark. In the Middle Ages, the city was the seat of the Danish royal family for 150 years. This is impressively documented by Nyborg Castle with its ancient ensemble, embedded in a rampart in the center of the city.
After a little free time we reach our final destination today, the city of Svendborg in the very south of Funen. The secret capital of the island is beautifully situated directly on the Svendborgsund and invites you to discover it with its beautiful city center and many medieval buildings. The city’s museum harbor is also well worth seeing; Svendborg is well known as a center for wooden shipbuilding.
Further along the southwest coast and via Faaborg, the panoramic trip ends back at the hotel in the late afternoon.

Day 4: Copenhagen

Our last day is all about royal treasures. In the morning we reach Middelfart in the west of the island, where we visit Denmark’s Ceramics Museum. The highlight of the exhibition is the “Treasury” with magnificent pieces from the Royal Copenhagen collection dating back around 240 years. There are also changing exhibitions with contemporary Danish and international ceramic art of the highest quality. The extraordinary architecture of the buildings and the fantastic view from the café directly onto the Belt are certainly worth seeing.
After this visit we drive back to Odense. Finally we visit the Danish Railway Museum. The museum is located in the center and is housed in a 21-track, large depot building from 1954. Here your groups will not only experience the history of the Danish railway, but also an important part of Danish industrial culture up close in an authentic industrial environment. From the oldest surviving locomotive in Denmark to the large diesel-electric ME locomotive of modern times. A real eye-catcher is certainly an original royal saloon car from the beginning of the 19th century.
Afterwards there is time to stroll, browse, shop or experience the world-famous Danish coziness in one of the numerous cafés in the center of Odense. In the evening we are guests in the restaurant of our hotel for the last time. We look back over the past few days and enjoy our last evening on Funen.

Day 1: „God dag Danmark“

The journey takes place via Hamburg and Flensburg. We start our excursion program on the Düppeler Heights near Sønderborg and visit the history center “Dybbøl Banke”. This event, which is very important for today’s German-Danish relationship, tells of the feud between Danes, Prussia and Austria over the supremacy of the Schleswig-Holstein region in the century before last. After we have visited the historic mill that belongs to it, we reach our hotel in Sønderborg. After check-in, we have dinner together and a cozy end to the day.

Day 2: “World Natural Heritage and the Vikings”

In the morning we reach the small town of Hoyer on the North Sea coast, where we visit the Wadden Sea National Park, which, among other things, is the most bird-rich area in Europe and a world natural heritage site. Day 3: West Jutland and the North Sea

Well fortified after breakfast, we continue in a northwesterly direction to Thyborøn, the town between the Limfjord and the North Sea, surrounded by endless white sandy beaches and at the same time the second largest fishing port in Denmark. Here you can feel the natural forces of the Danish west coast particularly intensely…! Exciting impressions and experiences await us first in the harbor of Thyborøn. On a guided tour we get very close to life, work and the locals there and marvel at the fishing fleet, the rescue station, various quays and much more.
So much sea air makes you hungry, so at lunchtime we enjoy a freshly caught fish buffet in a restaurant in town. After this refreshment we visit the fish auction hall. From landing the catch, sorting and filleting to auction and shipping, we experience the entire process of a fish auction. There is free time before we reach our next hotel in Skive in the late afternoon for an overnight stay.

Day 4: Danish North Cape & its sea creatures

Our first destination today is in Hirtshals. We explore Northern Europe’s largest aquarium. With a total of 58 aquariums through which 4.5 million liters of seawater flow, it offers its guests all sorts of exciting insights and experiences about the inhabitants of the North Sea. More than 70 different species of fish swim through the impressive water landscape, and you can always find interesting exhibitions.
A visit to the seal family during the daily feeding is not to be missed… We continue to Skagen. We change trains and enjoy a tractor ride to the northernmost tip of Denmark, the “Grenen”. Where Kattegat and Skagerrak meet, we experience a magnificent natural landscape in a unique setting and watch the waves play. After this impressive experience with the associated nature reserve, we reach Sabro in the evening and our next host, dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5: East Jutland and the island of Funen

In the morning we visit the very historic fortress “Koldinghus” in Kolding, a former seat of the kings of Denmark and the only remaining royal fortress in Jutland. The castle from the 13th century is particularly worthwhile for German groups, as it formed the border with Germany in the Middle Ages. Today it is a fortress, museum and architectural masterpiece at the same time! You can also visit the Heroes’ Tower, the Ruin Hall, the castle church, a library and the largest knight’s hall in Denmark. The largest collection of modern, contemporary silver in the country is well worth seeing; permanent traveling exhibitions of international standing round off a visit to the Koldinghus in a positive way.
The journey continues over the “Little Belt Bridge” on the island of Funen to the capital Odense. It is also the home of Hans Christian Andersen. Everywhere in the city you can often meet the world-famous poet and storyteller. Worth seeing, among many other things, are the old city district with the beautifully renovated town houses around the Hans Christian Museum, the former almshouse in Paaskestræde and the small river in the center where the women lived during H.C. Andersen did their laundry. The beautiful Sct is also worth seeing. Knud’s Church. Optional: Visit to the Hans Christian Andersen Museum in the center of the city. There will then be a little free time before we reach our host on the outskirts of the city.

Day 6: Royal Denmark

We reach the island of Zealand via the famous “Storebelt Bridge”. The day is initially dedicated to the former royal city of Roskilde. Once there we were guests at the famous Viking Ship Museum. The oldest part of the museum, the Viking Ship Hall, was created as a large exhibition space for the permanent presentation of the 5 world-famous Viking ships from Skuldelev, which, together with another ship collection, form the core of the exhibition. The ships were found and excavated in the fjord in 1962. The museum also has its own island with a harbor, boatyard and the “Tunet”, the Viking meeting place. If you like, you can lend a hand here and try to make a rope, carve patterns in wood or forge a glowing iron…
Our next destination is the Frederiksborg moated castle in Hillerød. The largest Renaissance complex in Northern Europe with its beautiful landscape park with several baroque gardens is certainly a highlight on a trip to Denmark. Frederiksborg tells 500 years of Danish history, the tour of the castle with its knight’s hall, knight’s parlor, castle church, the marble gallery, the Neptune fountain and much more is more than impressive.
In the late afternoon we reach our last host for the next two nights, where we have dinner and overnight.

Day 7: Copenhagen

Finally today we visit Copenhagen. After being welcomed by the local tour guide, the capital of Denmark is waiting to be discovered. On the journey through Copenhagen we experience the many sights such as: B. the old harbor “Nyhavn”, the Little Mermaid, the marble church, the alternative district “Christiania” or the pedestrian street “Strøget”… The tour ends at Amalienborg Palace, the seat of the Danish king, where we witness the changing of the guard of the royal guard. After this visit, the rest of the day is at leisure. There is time to stroll, browse, buy or feel the world-famous Danish cosiness in one of the numerous cafés and let our souls unwind… In the evening we are guests in our hotel’s restaurant for the last time. We review the last few days and enjoy the last evening in Denmark.

Royal Denmark with Copenhagen

The journey takes place via the ferry ports Puttgarden or Rostock to Rødbyhavn or Gedser.
We start the excursion program with a short detour to the famous chalk cliffs of “Møns Klint” on the island of the same name, Møn, and enjoy the first breathtaking views. We will reach our location hotel by early evening at the latest, where we will have dinner together and spend the night there.

Day 2: Copenhagen and Frederiksborg Castle

We are guests at the Viking Ship Museum. The Viking Ship Hall was created as a large exhibition space for the permanent presentation of the 5 world-famous Viking ships from Skuldelev.
